BAS Specialist

Position Summary

Maintenance and repair functions for HVAC systems, commercial split and package systems, air-cooled reciprocating chillers, air and water-cooled screw chillers, centrifugal chillers, knowledge of systematic controls and central plant operations, some centrifugal disassembly and reassembly experience, basic boiler experience. Masters ladder diagrams when troubleshooting, and masters refrigerant side diagnosis and repair. Self-motivated keeping up with new equipment and literature. Always doing personal inventory on technical knowledge to recommend training needed to supervisor. Good coaching skills a must, and demonstrates leadership skills.

Essential Responsibilities

• Maintains consistent accurate paperwork.
• Maintain all maintenance logs and safety logs.
• Provide input and contribute to developing and enhancing profitability of the Service Department.
• Focus on department safety training and accountability for all safety standards.
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to after hour’s service calls as needed.
• Must travel to work sites locally with some weekend calls required.
• Respond to customer questions, resolve issues and concerns with attention to safety, detail, and accuracy.
• Offer suggestive sales of company products and services.
• Document and report equipment in need of service or repair.

Qualifications

• Must work well with fellow employees as a team player.
• Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License with a good driving safety record.
• Associates Degree in HVAC from an accredited Junior College or Trade School (Can be Substituted for Up to
• Two (2) years of Experience and/or Experience Required as detailed by Level.
• Must be a registered HVAC technician with the state of Texas.
• Must be EPA certified to handle refrigerants.
• Experience with equipment maintenance and electrical troubleshooting.
• Experience with Building Automation Systems (Metasys and Facilities Explorer) is a plus.
• Ability to read wire diagrams and blueprints, basic safety, documentation skills.
• Able to prioritize projects, manage multiple assignments and diverse work load.
• Active TWIC is a plus.
